Just bought a boardman comp frame off ebay and it doesn't have a mech hanger, does anybody know which hanger fits the comp frame, looked on betd.co.uk and there doesn't seem to be a definative answer, or can anybody with a comp frame post up a picture of the mech hanger so I have a fighting chance of getting the right one.

Cheers
Paul

Halfords - had to replace the hanger on a Kraken a year ago, got one from a website follopwing the instructions for ensuring it is the correct hanger - on receiving it realsied it was quite a bit out of being correct - duly returned, popped into Halfords and had new one for my MTB with 2 days ! result.

Halfords also do the hangers at a good price, the Carrera ones are just £7.99 with bolt.

It'll probably be the same as the one on the HT pro that I've got. I broke mine and got a couple of replacements from halfords. This should be what you need:

    Cheers Rettah,
That does look like the one, the frame only has one fixing hole instead of two or three compared to the pictures on betd and its saying they have stock in all my local stores so with a bit of luck maybe able to get one tomorrow.

    Here's hoping

Seriously go to a different Halfords.

Every 'Bikehut' Employee should know this regardless of how experienced they are.

Its a type H/25 if you're getting one from BETD or its the one which most Halfords stock for £7.99.

I got that same hanger from Hellfrauds and it had a J on the back, not a H like the one that came off. It consequently didn't fit.
  • the H/25 hanger is very common, a lot of kona's use them if you get stuck, used to be a guy on ebay selling them for £9,
get a couple though, keep one in your pack as ony takes 5 mins to fit and can save a Very long walk!

Well finally managed to get one today and it was the H25, it ended up being being very simple in the end, gave them the part number that was in the link that Rettah supplied and they have them hanging on the peg. Apparently H25 fits a lot of Apollo, Carrera and Boardman as well as others

Thanks for your help guys can start on the buikd now

  • Can somebody help me please?

I'm having an absolute nightmare sourcing a Mech Hanger for my Boardman Comp 2011 Hardtail MTB....

I tried Halfords who messed me around to hell and back, then thought I found one online, it looks identical but is just fractionally too small

Please someone help me find one, I have Googled like mad and still no joy, none of the hangers of BETD fit ect.

  • Yes, none of those Hangers will fit my bike, yes, I checked.

I wish they did, wouldn't be having such a faff then!

It is identical to this Hanger:

I ordered that very one but it is fractionally to small.
