Have a pair of fox alps forks ... Do I have to use a proper shock pump? Or can I use any normal pump with shrader and gauge on it?

If the PSI range of the fork is within range of the dial, go for it.
Proper shock pumps are small-volume designs for a reason however...
Most shocks and forks have relatively little air in them, so you don't need a large stroke of pump, you just need enough to increase the pressure. A smaller pump makes accurate changes far easier.
Also, most shocks and forks work at pretty damned high pressures. Such pressures (100PSI+) are all but unatainable using normal pumps, especially with such a small volume of air.0 -
Shock pump costs £15-£20 and you'll use it regularly - you'll never get an accurate pressure with a large volume pump, and shock pumps have a valve for releasing pressure as well.I don't do smileys.
