edited June 2011 in Road buying advice
but don't want to change my Chris King pewter headset.
Does anyone still make a nice-looking 'non-integrated' fork?
My last fork - a no-name carbon affair has given up the ghost,
the alloy steerer crown had started to disintegrate and make the steering
notchy, to the point of being unrideable, so am in the market for
something around the £100 mark - any suggestions/recommendations
would be appreciated :?:

I believe integrated forks also work with non-integrated head tubes but may? look odd. For £100 you'll probably be looking at Al steerer. It's worth a look on the CTC forum re possible problems with such steerer tubes, certainly makes interesting reading. I suppose another question is whether or not it's worth risking second hand which would then mean you could probably get an all carbon fork. Do you need mudguard eyes?

Did some searching and realistically, won't be able to get a non-integrated fork
unless someone selling them NOS or second-hand.
    Opted for these off eBay...

at least the fork shoulder is black so it won't be so obvious that the
    headset and fork are 'mismatched''.
Gutted tbh that the CK doesn't blend with the fork/steerer, all looks
a bit makeshift, not ideal on a 2k bike
