They do have a bit of a point, loads of formulas use 2Pi and would be cleaner with Tau.

What about area ? that would use half Tau, or Pi.

True. But there are loads more formulas which I've encountered in electronic engineering using 2Pi. I'd say there's room both both constants.

It used to be a laugh on here, this is just boring

Lets get things back on track, does anyone want to start a post about rotor dynamics

    No , GOOD

Now will someone please post a picture of a scantily clad young lady next to a bike. :D

    Thank you MattC.

Although this has now got me thinking you are a very rare thing.

People who understand rotor dynamics very rarely know what the naked female form looks like, did someone help you find the lady picture?

^^ Whilst I don't profess to be an expert on rotor dynamics, I did work for a company for a few years, specifying and selling very high spec motors, hence a reasonable knowledge of rotor dynamics. (I have a very sad book in my study called "The Electric Motor Handbook")

The naked female form, however.................. :D

Sadly I have never had a copy of "The Electric Motor Handbook"

I do know where to lay my hands on a couple of volumes of an extremely good publication all about the female form, excellent photography very little text.

Keep it to yourself though, I wouldn't want the wife to find out where they are. Only thinking of her you know, wouldn't want her confidence undemined by these lithe young things.

May be away from the computer for a whils, best pop into the shed and just check they're still there.

Ha! I trounce you all. Not only do I have copies of "Power Electronics" and "Electrical Machines" on my bookshelves but I ALSO have other non-engineering related publications of a shall we say a more delicate nature :-)

On a sadder note I confirm that all the jokes relating to young engineers and they're lack of first hand knowledge of the "other" subject were all too true :-(

I've also got four books on quantum physics, just 'cause I enjoy the subject
The art pamphlet collection may be more than four though

Ah yes, a weakness of mine too. A friend's brother works as a researcher at CERN, I'd love to be clever enough to do that but I don't have the "branes" for it :-))
