Campagnolo 11 speed with 10 speed

Merlin are selling Record 11 speed shifters cheaper than I can find NOS 10 speed (or even good second hand).

Can you use 11 speed shifters in an otherwise 10 speed drivetrain, as long as the limits are properly set?

    I don't know for sure, but gut feel is that the steps between gears will be shorter with 11 speed shifters...I believe the cassette and shifters are the only "number of gears" dependent components.

    I could well be wrong though :wink:

    (edit) also, you'll have more gears on the shifter than you have gears on the cassette - I can't see it working.
