Shimano Free hub removal - how to do?

Hi
I hope someone can offer some advice.
I had noticed that the cassette on my Spez FSR XC Pro was "wobbly".
I have removed the cassette and the cartride bearings & axle.
I think the free hub can be removed with an 11mm hex inserted into the open end of the free hub and turn anti-clockwise.
However, it's tight - even with all my weight - I can't get it to move.

Any idea's?

many cassettes do have some "wobble" even when there is no play.

    Hi

I got this from the bike specification -

Rear hub - Specialized disc, Sealed cartridge bearing, High/low flange with OS contact side, 32 hole
    Cassette 9 speed HG50.

The amount of "wobble" on the cassette was deffo not normal.

    Thanks in advance

If you want to remove it, and the 11mm key fits (many Spesh ones are - most Shimano are 10mm), then put the key in a vice and use the wheel as leverage.

But depends hpw bad the wobble is. Many have a little 'play'.

Managed to get the free hub off - actually its a 12mm allen key from the rearside (!) of the hub.

Now looking to get a replacement.
Bike shop was sure that it was a DT Swiss free hub.
Checking CRC and Wiggle - I cannot see anything that matches - needs to be sealed cartridge bearing, Shimano 9 speed compatible.

    Any idea's?

so it is not a shimano hub!

you need to identify which DT hub it is. (make/year/model of bike might help) and then talk to the selling shop as they are the most likely to have spares for what they sell.
