So I have replaced the 4 main pivot bearings on my sanction 1.0 & for some reason the nut to tighten it all up needs to be done up kin tight to remove all the play.
I never noticed this before when stripping & greasing the bearings, just needed nipping up.
I didnt replace the split rings, could find these on google, should I have done?
Anyone else done theirs & had any issues?
Edit when I say i didnt replace the split rings of course I refitted them, just couldnt find new ones!

Are the bearings exactly the same dimensions as the old ones?0

They had the same numbers on them, got them from betd(?) Think I will have to disassemble again to double checkBanned from singletrack forum again :-)0

I've compared the old & the new & the angular bit on the new ones is slightly bigger, so the bearings are going into the frame further, hence me needing to tighten them up much more.
I got them after reading another bikeradar thread:-
UPDATE: THE BEARINGS ARE TH INDUSTRIES 1 1/8' ACB 36x45 873S STAINLESS
You need 4 in total and they are supplied in pairs by BETD see http://www.mountainbikecomponents.co.uk ... d+Bearings you need to scroll down the page to find the correct type,
Certainly these ones from betd do not properly fit the sanction. So the search goes on for the mythical 873s'SBanned from singletrack forum again :-)0 -

They are headset bearings, often used in Crane Creek and FSA headsets - the Integrated type if I remember correctly ie IS type.
Have a look at these:

Just an update on this for anyone who needs these bearings. It seems no-one in the uk is able to supply them.
I ordered them from the dutch company below.
