what you reckon guys?0 -
Why? What's wrong with the one already on there?0
-
Nothing yet, but ive got money spare to pimp it up a little..0
-
spend the money on something decent first then. helmet, gloves, hydration pack, inner tubes, puncture repair kit, tyre levers, multitool, pump and clothing like jerseys, jackets, shorts and shoes.
Looks decent, nice bike0 -
get that "dork protector" off the rear wheel and loose the wheel reflecters...look more pimp without spending any cash0
-
Ride it a bit first, then change something you don't like.
Pointless changing the stem then realizing you don't like the pedals, saddle, grips, tyres or something that you COULD have changed to actually make a difference.
Changing 1 black stem for another identical black stem is not pimping, it's just wasting money.0 -
I agree with cat with no tail and getonyourbike, spend the money on some decent riding gear, protection, clothing, bag and trail tools (multitool, decent pump etc) and/or the important parts on your bike. Contact points are probably the most important parts, so a seat that's comfy if yours isn't already, pedals that grip and don't hurt your feet on long rides, grips that are comfy, decent tyres (it's handy having a couple of sets of tyres, winter tyres and summer tyres) and then the cockpit, make sure it's comfortable so you're not too stretched out or cramped, play with the seat first and if it's still not right, then maybe a longer/shorter stem.
Nice bike anyway, enjoy her, whatever you choose to spend the money on0 -

Dork protector? Whats that aha? And the reflectors are now off0 -
he means the clear plastic protector on the cassete.lol.
first thing id change is the pedals mate..will keep you planted. and like the guys said..decent clothes can make a difference. get the basics before changing bike spec etcCube Acid 20110 -
Right, im currently ready to order some new pedals, quick release and a couple of spacers.. what i want advice on is colour?
im thinking gold? what you reckon?0 -
Update : So ive been loving this bike since i got it! absolutely loved it!
My problem now is, my mate has bought the same bike and were always going on rides together, it isnt a problem but ide like my bike to look a little different, yes ive bought my coloured handlebars, protectors and that, but what do you guys think of putting stickers on your bike? and where do you get them from??0 -

You'd need a new seatpost, or at least a shim.
Dont think your front mech would fit.
Dont think your chainset would fit (or the BB at least)
You'd need to check your current steerer length to make sure it's not too short
You'd need to check your cables / brakes to make sure they're not too short
TBH, if you've got a spare £300, you're better off upgrading the parts you've already got or waiting until you can afford to do a complete build.0 -
Okay thanks for the reply, im asking because im looking at making my bike look a little different from my mates who i go riding with all the time. He bought the same bike aha, so now im looking at maybe spraying it? However i really need some help at the steps you hve to take to do it. can anyone help?0
-
So you want to spend £300 on a new frame just because your mate bought the same bike as you? Why spend all that money just because your mate got the same bike? Are you some sort of mentalist? Are you on crack?
If you spray it yourself, chances are you'll end up making it look shlt. Bluechair has done a decent job of his Canyon though and has a blog about it.
Get some different grips or pedals or something if it bothers you that much.
Again, if you want to make it look different to your mate, and you've got £300 burning a hole in your pocket, buy some better components. Upgrade to a deore groupset, buy some new forks or new wheels or something. Spend money to make it better, not just to make it different to your mates.0 -
I helped Bluechair with info on spraying check his blog out but if it was me, just ride the bike until it needs a respray and save the money to pimp it later.0
-
Roy am getting new components on mine such as handlebars and new seat that is smaller because its too pointy atm and you kept it quiet about getting aframe lad0
-
Kept new frame quiet roy just get different compionents am getting new handle bars and seat its too big atm :L xx0

This is a funny post. Buy a bike and then waste aload of time and potentially money on the most random upgrades. Love it, then to top it off his wee pal turns up saying he is gonna uprgade items to make the bike smaller!!
