Bike Security?

Hi folks,

Does anyone take a bike lock on their road bikes? For those quick nip into the shops or bike shop?

Or do you lot usually not stop and need one?

depends where you live/ride

i'm in london, so i don't stop, or only stop where i can keep bike right next to me

any decent bike shop will let you bring it in, although i've had staff warn me of thieves taking customers' bikes from the stands inside the doors!

if it's my commute bike, i'll only let it out of my sight if i've got a big chunky lock on it, even then i worry about thieving scum with angle grinders, i never leave it for long

but in rural spain i've often left my pricey road bike just propped outside cafes and shops
