GT Zaskar Expert Front Mech Issue

I wonder if anyone can help!!!!
I am building a Zaskar Expert, and have got stuck with an issue, The front Mech I can't get any lower than around 4mm from the chainring. (Bottle Bolt & Boss is in the way) I have it exactly on the spot that the original mech was fitted, but I can't see how it is gonna change rings at this height.
The orignal mech was SLX 660, and I am fitting a XT 770, which are basically the same size and shape?
Has anyone else had this issue.
