Riding, wrecking and repairing mtb's for too long!!
I did a Helvellyn route not too long ago which started from Glenridding car park, follow the lake road north then turn left for the road up to Dockray. Turn left in Dockray then follow that until a fence, then straight on onto the Old Coach Road. When you cross the little stream, turn left on the bridleway and that leads up to the first peak of the day with a little square rock shelter

. If you follow the path over the top of that peak you sort of follow a ridge over about 4 or 5 peaks until you eventually reach Helvellyn (lots of Hike-a-Bike). I then followed the path back to a T-junction (that you would have passed earlier) and turned right. Follow this path to Greenside mines, down through Greenside mines and then back into Glenridding.
Never put off until tomorrow something that you can do today. 'Cause if you do it today, and like it, the you can do it again tomorrow!!
I live in the Lakes and recently started recording my routes then uploading them to GPSies. If you click the link in my sig it'll take you to my page, I've got 9 routes uploaded so far and more to come. Not got Helvellyn on there, got Skiddaw though!
