Hi,
Ive received a new right hand side lever st-2300 because the last one had broke. But now I am stuck how to install it, for a few reasons
1) there is a silver 'wheel shaped' object where the brake cable should go through
2) im not sure how the tape goes back on?

Are you sure it is not where the "gear cable" goes in the side of the shifter ?
The brake cable goes in the back from under the bar tape.
it is probably an adjuster so you can remove it or leave it in place, up to you.
If you are just replacing the lever, you could just remove the old one leaving the clamp and bar tape in place and refit the new one with minimal hassle.

Hi thanks
The main problem is, the clamp is still there from the old shifter, but they have sent me another shifter with a new clamp attached at the bottom, and I cannot take it off! How annoying!0
