Other info:
Bought this on the Trek Employee scheme, absolute bargain! Rides absolutely fantastically. Changed out the wheels, tires & tubes, and brakes straight away, swapped the 12-28 cassette out straight away also as this would be too much for me. Cut the steerer down for my position a few days after getting it as well. Put around 500 miles on her this month so really getting the most out of my new purchase!

tall head tube you got there !? are the geometries different in the Madone range...my 6.5 has a short headtube...more low down race ?

There are now three fits, H1, H2, & H3 with H1 being last years Pro fit (shortest head tube) and H2 being the old Performance which is what this is. It will only be 2cm taller than the same sized frame in H1 geometry.

I do occasionally go out that way Pete, do wave if you see me, often in Discovery Channel top! ;)

    Beautiful!

Is it possible to fit 25mm tyres on the Trek 3.1?

Yes, I occasionally use 25s on it when I go on one of the routes round here with awful roads! I have heard of people using 27s but never tried it.
