Fox dhx boost valve

been looking at fox dhx shocks and noticed it has a second can..I'm assuming this is the boost valve?? just wondered in reality what this does and whether I'd notice a difference at trail centre level over my current rp23 or if it's just for the most part a bit of bling. They certainly look nice anyway

the can is not actually anything to do with the boost valve.
