Dawes Horizon or something else?

Looking for a tourer in the price range of the above. Any other makes/models to look at? Replacing a slicked MTB to do some touring but hopefully something nippy enough unladen. I know 'try before you buy ' is the best policy but no dealer near me has any tourers at all in stock. Most of them don't know what a tourer is.

Any thoughts?
