I did the annual Scottish Bikeathon on Sunday and great fun it was too. Based in Kingussie the 26 mile route went south around Laggan on a mix of cycle paths and quiet roads. The weather was superb and I believe more than 800 did the ride.
But what impressed me most of all was how young some of the participants were. Not just kids on tag alongs but boys and girls around 6-7 years old on tiny bikes being shepherded by a proud parent. Loads of great photos here:

We did the 2008 London Freeride with our youngest who was 8. We cycled 40 miles total, he was still rearing to go (we weren't quiet so fresh!).
It's lovely to see so many young kids having a great time on their bikes in the fresh air."Coming through..."0
