It's probably heavier than the other balls, and not as good value for money. But some pool halls will pay the extra because it's made in england.
It's certainly the ugliest pool ball on the table.
No doubt your thread will now be innundated with people who can pot it first time everytime and think everyone else should do the same.
Also PBR (Pool Ball Racker) magazine voted it best pool ball of the evars 12 years running.

I thought more rebound damping on the cue might help it descend better.
Failing that I could put the 5 on the bar and admire it for a couple of hours.0 -

In the cue ball I'd say it's just the not the right sort of surface for the 5 to be at it's best. Having said that I still think it's the best by far and could never be beaten by a more up to date object!!0

Why dont you all shut up. You all know the 5 is the only truly capable trail ball on the table... nothing else with it's travel can cope with such abuse from the cue ball. And it's British...
