Rear shock pressure and sag.

Just picked up a Trek Top Fuel 8 of which this is my first full suspension bike.
I have been told to set up the rear shock for around 30% sag. I am a heavy rider being a rugby player and have put in around 185lbs of pressure to attain the 30%.
Does this sound OK? I am around 15 stone in weigh and the shock is a FOX RP2.
I notice the diferrence when the pro pedal is off as well.

Cheers Supersonic. The rear shock is all new to me, and I thought that if I ask a silly question now, it would be better than asking weeks later.0

Thanks, but it's me getting peoples names confused. Please accept my apologies.0

Isn't 30% sag slightly high? I know its not huge, but my shock recommends between 15-25% Sag. I have set to 15% and works fine. I think a few people say it comes down in the ender to personal preference so.
Could just be because they are different shocks I guess. But yes as said 185lbs is fine. I have mine set to something similar.0 -

it al depends on the bike/travel etc.."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I will spend the next day fine tuning then, and see what suits me better.0
