Sherwood Pines? Any good?

So my dad said he'll load our bikes in his van and take us here for some action...what i want to know is if its any good? if not... whats better thats near to it?
I live in Huddersfield so anything more than about an hour and a half drive away is too far.

If you want trail centres then Dalby(Pickering) Gisburn(Y.Dales) or Sherwood Pines.
If you want natural ie not waymarked go to the Peak District.
I personally don't like Sherwood Pines,Dalby is marginally better and Gisburn is the best of the bunch,if you like that sort of riding.0 -
Holmfirth area has some good riding areas. Do you not have an OS map? Once you get out of the built up areas there appears to be a vast network of routes. A lot of the routes marked as footpaths around that area used to be old cart/carriage routes ;-)0

Sherwood is a brilliant first trip to an easy red route.
By virtue of our inital post - is your dad taking the family? if so the pines is great.
if you are a seasoned pro, you MAY be a little dissapointed if you chose this over the likes of Dalby / Cannock etc etc. I live near and love the red route.0
