As above looking at some new flat pedals I like the look of Sunline V1's but they are quite expensive ... The Shimano DX's look quite good quality?? anyone recommend a decent set of pedals ......

Wellgo MG1s or any of the Slim Jim pattern."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

DMR V12's, used them on a few bikes now with no complaints.0

Another for the nanos0

I have the MG1s but find the grip a little disappointing on most of my shoes including Nike Air 6.0s - terrible in the wet.0

I find the grip excellent in all conditions, and I just wear old trainers mainly.I don't do smileys.

Light, big platform, great value.0 -
Asked this question a while back and was recommended MG1's.
Best pedal i've ever used and i suffer no slippage whatever i've got on my feet, apart from perhaps my missus stilleto's0 -
i have been using nukeproof ones (slim jim copys) for a few months now and they are good0
-
+ 1 for the nano techs, superb pedals, was a die hard shimano dx fan until I used the nanos.0

Wellgo MG1 £23.99 here

Anyone know if they are fake?"it's like a gift, you know? It's like I can't control it"0 -
Doubt anyone would fake Wellgos as they are probably the biggest manufacturer in the world. They copy (and improve I would say) other makes such as DMR.
(There are quite a few rebranded Wellgos as well, Sanderson is one)I don't do smileys.

Wellgo make DMR pedals, not copy them.
There's only really a couple of big pedal manufacturers making for all the brands - the price is often down to what name is stamped on them0 -
I agree with Cooldad though - i've never seen fake Wellgo's and i cant think of anyone who would make them. So that's a pretty good deal0

Does anyone knwo where they are made?
These ones are from Hong Kong. Some of the feedback says they are selling fake Shimano chains :?"it's like a gift, you know? It's like I can't control it"0 -
Anything bar DMR,
Had a few of them, teh V8's are made of cheese bearins last about 1-2 weeks, C12 the nylon bussings where out real fast and are the replacements along with the replacement bearins are expensive if you go for theres( though you could get the size and buy from somewhere else)
Also found that DMR's lose pin's alot :S0 -
Wellgo's factory is in Taiwan. If there's any mention of "fake" shimano chains, i'm guessing they are genuine, but from a grey market source, so may not come with all the packaging etc.0

Wellgo do make them for DMR though. But they release their own generic version which shops label mistakenly as copies. They are LU313s.0

IWith all those evil shin shredding pins I reckon grip is not much of an issue with most flats.
Just price and longevity. And weight maybe.
And having magnesium written on them of course.I don't do smileys.

180g weight saving for a few quid is worth it. After all, people spend more to have Thomson wrote on stems and don't save anything at all.0

At that price I'm tempted to give flats a go . .0 -
Superstar nano tech's with the thru pins are my current pedals and the favourite of all the ones mentioned on this thread, instantly at home on them and superb grip and design !
DMR's have a loyal following but they're just too narrow underfoot in my opinion, Wellgo MG1's are fine if a bit bland, and the slim jims the least grippy of the lot and not as good a platform feel as the nano's.0 -
I have used V12's in the past and they have always been cock on....running DX's at the mo and have mixed feelings as they don't appear as grippy as the V12's...if I had the money it would be Penthouse Flat's0
-
I have both V8's and Superstar Nanos and there is no comparison, the Nanos are FAR FAR superior!!!0
-
kona wah wah, £30 brand new from ebay. 10 less than superstar but grippier and i'v not heard bad things about them0
-
Wellgo MG1 here for me as well converted from DMR V8's by the shop i had my bike from as i was going to remove the V8s so they threw in the MG1s
converted my mate from SPD's to them now although if im doing XC i will use SPD's stilllive, ride, survive
