My ITB feels really tender, and even pressing them lightly hurts. No problems when cycling or running however. Any advice?

Oh...IT boffin!

Someone else?

Get a foam roller and use it to stretch him.

I recently bought a 66fit blue foam roller it works but you look like a twat whilst doing it.
Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.

I've been using one of those handheld wooden massagers and stretching. Helps a little but will need to give the foam rollers shot.

You could try that stretch where you stand sideways to a wall, cross the foot nearest the wall over the other and then lean against the wall pushing your waist close to the wall. Then do the other side. Don't push it too far though.
