saddle creak

evenin all :D my saddle creaks and its damn annoyin. cant tighten it up any more as i have a habit of strippin threads out of bolts. any ideas how to quieten it down ?

  • I had the same problems a while ago. You sitting on an SDG by any chance ? I've had 2 of them in the past, both creaked like hell, and have a couple of friends with the same troubles with them just now.

    Pity as I found them very comfortable. Perfect saddle for the audibly challenged rider.

    For me the problem wasn't how tight the bolts were, as the creak was coming from the rails themselves, where they fit into the moulded plastic at the front and rear of the saddle. I'd suspect that this is where your problem lies.

    I tried pushing grease into the plastic moulded sockets where the rails fit into. Easier at the front than the back though. Worked for a while sometimes, but was never a proper fix.

    In the end I fixed it by buying another saddle !
