Hi

I'm currently attempting to build up a Lapierre Spicy 316 and need some help regarding matching the front mech and shifter to the chainset I have got (Shimano SLX double).

The frame already has a SLX front mech attached, and I have a Sram X7 shifter which was used with a triple chainset on my last bike.

Is it possible to use either of these with the double chainset?

I'm assuming I can use the derailleur, but will need to buy a need shifter?

Or can I just use them as they are and not shift into the top gear as it doesnt exist?

Any help would be brilliant, thanks.

    Thanks

Is there any way to make it so I can't accidentally shift into the none existent top gear?

    Maybe setting the limits?

well if you set the nmech correctly (as per any other mech) there is no issue.

Set the limit screws to block out the third click and it won't shift too far.

Thanks. I thought that might work. I'll give it a go when I get the chainset installed (stupid bl00dy press fit bottom bracket)
