Halfords gave me caged bearings, how do i fit them

took my old rear loose hub bearings to halfords (as it was on my route from work) for replacements and they have given me 1/4" caged hub bearings, now the freehub side is fine but the other has a rubber dust shield i don't fancy damaging, same ont' front hub

is this removable or do i just squeeze the bugger in?oooor remove bbearings from cage bodger style?

yes it is removable.

i have seen the pic of someone removing them but for the life of me i can't find it today,
ive been searching through both those sites and resorted to showing my mechanical inadequacy on here

If you remove the bearings from the cage, you will need another ball or two.

do they have an internal metal structure i'm bound to damage?

If i damage anything else I might as well take the plunge and buy a new bike,
getting impatient with my build, road bike i've been using isn't suitable for my ass

If that doesn't do the job, post back with the brand and model of hub.

as i say the park tools helped but didn't include the part rubber/part metal dust cover between cup & cone on this type
anyway ripped it out bent the metal washer frame and bodged it straight again both front & both hubs back together
