My new wheels have just arrived and, knowing how often the "what weight" question gets asked, thought I'd share this empirical data (from my digital kitchen scales).
Red Hope Pro 2 Evo hubs on black Crest rims with black DT Comp spokes.
Weights (no valve or rim tape, just rim, hub and spokes):
Front - 750g
Rear - 870g

Cheers.
Am I right in thinking the Crest are the new version of the older 355 rim?0 -
Yep - AFAIK that's right.0
-
If going on quoted weights:
295g+185 for the hubs.
340+340 for the rims.
380g for spokes (ish)
60g for nipples
= 1600g!
Almost match exactly, good work!0 -
Gotta be happy with that.
Actual weights I recorded were F - 749g and R - 867g, but I rounded it up for reporting purposes.
Should have mentioned that both F and R are for a QR skewer, so that maybe adds a few grams?0 -
Most wheel weights published are without skewers, ie completetly bare.0

Very interesting indeed, SS how much do recon i should add to theis for 29er Wheels as these are the very build i'm looking at?0
-
The Crest 29er rims are 40g heavier per rim, though bizarrely the white versions are 70g heavier!
Spokes won't be too much more, I'm taking a stab in the dark at 30g. Hubs of course are the same.
1750g ish.0 -

Think he means the both are setup to run 9mm skewers and not 15mm/20mm front thru axles or 10mm/maxle rear axle? (skewers not installed when weights were taken).0 -

Yes, that's what I meant. Thought it mught add a few grams as there's more material sitting in the axles.
In any event, a 16g discrepancy on a 1600g weight is no biggie.0 -
this is what i was looking atFront Handbuilt Hope Wheels - Disc
Extras:Front Hub Hope Pro 11 Evo Q/R DiscZTR Flow White - DiscDT Revolution BlackHope Hub Colour Options Red
FRONT-WHEELS-DISC-HOPE £152.00 Update £152.00
Extras:Rear Hub Hope Pro 11 Evo 135mm Q/RZTR Flow White - DiscDT Revolution BlackHope Hub Colour Options Red
REAR-WHEELS-DISC-HOPE £232.00 Update £232.00/quote]

The Revolutions knock some weight off, but can be flexy for heavier riders. The white rims add 30g a piece, must be the powder coating.0

i think im going to order CB, i'll only keep lusting after them if i dont?0

My Pro 2 (non Evo)/Crests were 1585g on the kitchen scales, not sure I trust them, although Stan's rims can vary a reasonable amount!0

Taking your measurement, my measurement and SS's calculation, seems to be about +/- 1%. So quoted weights (or at least SS's maths ) seem fairly accurate.0 -
Aye mine were a smidge under 1600, bare was 1596.0
-
Mine were around that, not sure how much I trust the scales, but ballpark.Rock Lobster 853, Trek 1200 and a very old, tired and loved Apollo Javelin.0
