Morning, two 12 hour shifts for me, gutted as it's my birthday tomorrow. Got some decision making to do too, Guernsey rang me up yesterday to say they'd created a job fore if I wanted it, and then I got a email to say I had a interview for a northern PICU unit, plus there's other jobs coming up that I want. Argh!0

Kitty go with the Guernsey job.
Morning crud monkies.
waiting to hear wether wifey got the job she had the interview for yesterday, then i know when i can buy a new car or adopt her one.
Popped along to a race last night, so glad i wasnt racing, it was horrible, just pure torture, then the heavens opened and i was thinking if i was racing i would of been throwning the bike in the car and going home!
managed to spend more money last night! and today i will be popping along to the LBS where they should have a set of wheels in for me to see as an alternative to the Crank Bros or the American classics that i'm pondering. I dunno the CB look pimp but are 50g heavier than the classics but are £50-75 cheaper? these are stans rims with Hope hubs, meant to be as light but Hmmmmmmm
Anywhoo coffee is being inhaled and nothing on the diary so it could be a good day?0 -
Dweebs and dweebles,
Back in the workshop (finally) for some proper work. 'Bout time I got some real s**t going on.
Might even make a little time in my life for bacons. Oooo yeah 8)How would I write my own epitaph? With a crayon - I'm not allowed anything I can sharpen to a sustainable point.

hoping today is better than yesterday at work! A bad day and then put devil fuel in the car, 66.66 litres at pump 6.0 -
Kitty what VWsurfbum said. You are only young once and there will always be jobs on the mainland just like there will always be a smouldering sexual tension between you and Andy but jobs in Guernsey will be a lot harder to come by. You have the benefit of youth too, now is the time to try things and maybe make mistakes but you have a vocation you can use anywhere. Before I came on the railway I had two great job offers, one running a bar in lanzarote at the age of 20, the other at Beaumaris yacht club on Anglesey. I don't have any regrets as I have a good life anyway but I ofen wonder where I'd be if I took them as health, discipline and opportunity aside, by the time I retire I'll have done 47 years on the Railway. Grab your chances while you can before life takes over and begins to dictate what you can and can't do. Good luck though in whatever you decide0

Greetings Maggots...
And it's bucketing with rain in Basingstoke this morning..
I need to be in Enfied by 11, so I hope my sub one hour trip doesn't take three hours because no one in this country knows how to drive in the rain...
Kitty, Guernsey? Created a job?
Bonus, take it. It's a lovely part of the world, I used to go there on [computer mainframe related] business years back.
Like Gaz says, you're young once and life is all about experiences! You go for it!0 -
Morning all!
i am run down to fark at the minute, woke up with a really sore throat, gammy ear and just generally feeling gross. Time to hit the berocca i think, get those vit c levels up.
gazlar and VWsurfbum have got it bang on Kitty, 6 years ago i decided to move away from all of my family and friend to start a new career with a big challenge, i was bricking it but i now have a great group of friends and a lovely woman as well as a good job.
If you think the Guernsey job is something thats interesting and something you want then i would just go for it!

Morning benders
I'm off for another day of revision!!!!!!! What a fun life I have. Also a mate's birthday so probably be going to the pub a fair bit too today.
Kitty I reckon you should go with the job that has the potential to be the most fun. Fun is good
Anyway I'm off to grab some bacon from the shop, then I'll be cooking the bacon, and savouring the loveliness of it. Then I'll be going into uni to work...

Mornin' Zombies!
Today I feel gooooooood. Took the Blender out for a spin last night with the new (well, moved from old bike) brakes on. They screamed like little girls when doin anything remotely exciting, so a little tinkering is needed, but nothing much.
I also came to the conclusion that the Marzocchi Drop VI fork is sh1t. I want some Pikes or Revs for it. I need to oil the headset as it's a bit 'sticky' for want of a better word. And I will replace the seatpost and pedals soon.
Other than that, it was great fun! The geometry was very confidence inspiring woo and, more importantly, I'm not last in the Endomondo challenge!!!
Today is quiet, tonight will be too.
Kitty If it pays well, then go for it, if it isn't that great, maybe wait for the others? Either way, don't keep the Guernsey people waiting, it's horrible when a job is offered and then you're 'put on hold'. It doesn't give a good imrpression. It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.
Join us on UK-MTB we won't bite, but bring cake!

Exams for me, German was shit hard for everybody, Biology was dead easy and I hope geography isn't too difficult.
Kitty, just remember that you still need some decent mtbing terrain when deciding what job to choose0 -
KittyTake the Guernsey job, or you'll regret it as much as I regret not moving to Whistler when I had the chance.
Today is super meh. Rain, rain, rain and then some more rain.Visit Clacton during the School holidays - it's like a never ending freak show.

The worlds worst ISP - Etisilat are about as much help as a chocolate fireguard, and now I have to wait for our support guys to turn up, which will probably be Sunday when I want to go for a ride...
Kitty.. quick search for MTB and Guernsey and it comes back with Guet woods.. not much.. but at least it will be sunny.. and you can finish on the beach.
