£699 for the 9.1. Seems great value. If I was to get a full suss, I might be tempted..."Encyclopaedia is a fetish for very small bicycles"0

 not to be laughed at for that price, might get on myself one. is that price for the 2011 or 2010 version0

£699 is for the 2011 model.crackin spec for the dosh too compared with the gt sensor and mongoose salvo i was looking at.all in all a better bike for 300quid less, cant complain with that....Giant Reign 2

i suppose the grey is a tad plain compared to the lime green of my core 20.still for the money i cant complain,

got the 2010 6.3, perfect fit for me. was planning to upgrade parts as the wear out. the frame is solid, handles red trails no prob. the rear shock is as basic as it comes tho. but as u say for 300 not a prob.0

hey, do you know the difference between the frames on the 6.3 and 9.1? I had a 6.3 and it wasnt all that heavy (for comparison, the more expensive carrera banshee is much more heavier). Is upgrading the 6.3 worth it? The decathlon website says the 9.1 is 14.1 kg (without pedals) which is the same weight as my 6.3 (07 spec)0

Are you sure your 6.3 is only 14.1kg? My 2010 6.3 was a fair bit heavier than that before I upgraded the forks and tyres but the 2010 frame looks to be exactly the same as the 07 spec pictures (which would seem likely given it's the same model). Plus the other parts mentioned in reviews look to be the same too. I can't see how they managed to add 1.8kg between 2007 and 2010 whilst keeping the same frame, forks and shock? Unless you had the small frame...?
AFAIK the 6.3 and 6.4 share the same 6061 alu 3kg frame - not terribly light. The 9.1 has a 2.75kg 6061 alu frame of a slightly different design whereas the 9.3 has a 7005 alu frame. I've seen the 9.3 frame and it looks more like the 9.1 but a bit skinnier in places.
I think the 6.3 frame is worth some upgrades. The forks and shock are functional but cheap, basic and relatively heavy and basic. Change those and fit some racier treds and you can knock off a couple of KG. I think the 6.3 is amazing for the money and pretty good at any price really. It holds up well in all conditions and is a fun and confident bike to ride. The 9.1 is likely to be a measure better given the lighter frame and better components, and as such a complete steal at that price.0 -
For the money I think the weights are spot on. 3kg is 6.6lbs. Less than an Orange 5!
Not sure how they do it for the money.0
