Grease in my freehub

I recently overhauled the bearings in my Shimano FH-RM30 (Altus) rear hub, but some of the grease seems to have made its way into the freehub mechanism, which is now almost completely silent.

I've since run the hub for around 100 miles without issue, but should I replace the freehub body anyway? Also, how do I prevent this happening in future (use less grease, I guess)?

Thanks.

You could remove the freehub before servicing hub? Although the bearing carrier is normally within the freehub...
What's wrong with a silent freehub?

So it works and it's quiet and you're worried? You're weird mate ;-).

    What grease did you use?

I thought you were supposed to put a bit of grease in the freehub?

The grease was Finish Line Teflon grease. The silence doesn't bother me per se, but from what I've read, you're not supposed to use grease on the freehub mechanism, only light oil. I'm mainly concerned that grease might gum up the pawls or something at a later date.

You can always flush it through with warm oil if you're really worried.

Certainly not worth spending money on a replacement freehub though.

Live and let live, glory in the silence, I doubt that grease will solidify enough to cause an issue.
