Loctite for upper shock mount??

I've noticed after every ride my upper shock bolt comes slightly loose after every ride and causes the rear end to move slightly by a mm or so until I snug the bolt.

I don't want to overtighten the bolt as its a carbon frame with no recommended torque value according to specialized.

Which loctite should I be using on the upper shock mount?

Thanks

I would get it looked at first. some mild hold might help but i would say there are other issues.

What other issues could they be?

It's a brand new replacement frame with original RP23 shock.

    or use a nyloc.

weird, I've not had an shock bolt (or any other bolt that I can remember *) come undone on a bike.

    * ok, I remember once the crank bolt loosened and alos bolt for rear mudguard ..... I'm sure there'll be more ....

    What speccy frame is it??

There should be a standard torque value for all bolts on all bikes!!!! We just dont stick to them!!!

    For the 07 / 08 Enduro carbon it is 200 - 230 in / lb as per

    http://cdn.specialized.com/OA_MEDIA/pdf ... oSLMan.pdf

there will be one somewhere for your bike!!!!!

Loctite i would personally go for is 262 as you need a breakaway approx 22 Nm 200 in/lbs.............

Loctite 262 High/Med Strength Torque Tension Threadlocker, Breakaway torque 22Nm

    Technical Data:

Maximum thread size: Up to M36
    Strength: Medium/High
    Breakaway torque M10 bolts: 22Nm
    Fixture time steel: 15 min.
    Fixture time brass: 8 min.
Fixture time stainless steel: 180 min.
    Service temperature range: -55°C - +150°C
    Pack sizes: 10ml, 50ml, 250ml

    It's a 2010 enduro s-works carbon.

I contacted spesh about the correct torque and they told me they don't have one for the upper shock mount which i found strange.

so both you and they have not bothered to read the manual?

70-90inch pounds and blue loctite required.

    221 this has a breakaway of 8 nm which is right for a 70 - 90 in/lb of torque...
