KMC Quicklink/ SRAM Powerlink Compatibility

Hi all,
Just got a new frame and I am going to have to split the chain to get it on.
I am running a 10 speed Shimano XT DynaSys chain which (as I recently found out) won't stay together once it has been broken once.
So my question is, to get around this problem could I use a Quicklink/Powerlink to rejoin the chain instead of getting a whole new chain or a Shimano link pin?
(I know this will work in theory but I want to know which if either would be best)
Thanks,
-Chris

As far as I know the Sram is not reuseable.I don't do smileys.

ah sorry i assumed the 10speed would be the same as the 9speed design, just thinner0

as cooldad says, i think the sram link is a one time only thing, where as the kmc is reusable. i've used kmc links on sram, shimano and kmc chains and never had any trouble with them so you should be fine.My Nukeproof Mega

On the CRC website (Re SRAM Powerlinks):
IMPORTANT: 10SP Links are POWERLOCK, they fit together but then are not designed to come apart again.

The OP is talking about 10 speed, so random posts about powerlinks/9 speed set ups just confuse the issue.I don't do smileys.

KMCs are fine on shimano 10 speed chain. I have one for splitting for cleaning and carry some sram powerlock ones in case I need to repair (they were cheaper at time of buying, assume still are now). I have heard that the powerlocks can be re-used, I'd rather use something designed for it personally.Rock Lobster 853, Trek 1200 and a very old, tired and loved Apollo Javelin.0
