XT Pedal Play

Background,
Searched Shimano and this site for info, nowt found.
pedals done less than 200 miles in dry weather, they are over 2 years old.
play between axle and pedal body about 3-4mm and grease is still clean inside,
will new bearings and/or "bearing collar" fix this or are they on the way to the bin?

Don't they work on a cup and cone - if so just need adjusting?I don't do smileys.

200 miles is oting, especially in dry weather.
sounds like the nut has loosened since it cannot possbly be wear.
beware one of the uts is LH thread (at least, they are on my Ritchey and Look pedals@) but I cannot remember on which side.0 -
Might just need tightening..

I've done over 2000 miles on mine without any adjustment needed.0 -
ive just had another look at the Shimano diagram and they do look like cup and cone, which wasnt obvious from inspection.
the nuts were solid, but may have moved
I am sure that djusting the cup and cone play will fix it.
Thanks again.0
