Did my first metric tonne yesterday, despite shocking weather - did the 55 mile Tour de Vale route, plus two detours - one planned, one unplanned ( - went the wrong way down a massive hill...and then back up again...) - so total more like 65 miles

Am a little tender today, knees tired, but feel immensely proud of myself, especially given the atrocious weather

Mind you, my time was hilariously bad...

It's just a hill. Get over it.

That took determination - congratulations! I didn't even venture outside on the bike yesterday...

Secret Sam - well done. It's great, that sense of achievement.

Like you, I did the 55 mile route, plus the 7 or so miles to the start and home again. I wasn't rushing, and it took me 3 hours 50 mins.

    Keep it up!

@Lycra Man - did you brave the horrors of Eythrope Park? I took one look at the gravel and turned around and did a loop through Winchendon instead

(Note: the route took riders through a park which had just had a 1" layer of gravel laid on the road, making it absolutely lethal for road bikes, although probably OK for the Knobbly fraternity)

It's just a hill. Get over it.
