your concern has no basis in reality - why would you think that..?

Ive heard rumours that you cant tell if carbon is damaged and it can then just break nad the only way to see the damage is xray

Don't cross the road unless the green man is showing! MTFU

You've given them a visual inspection - I don't think that you can do much more than that. Take it for a ride and try it out. If the worse comes to the worse, blow your cash on an x-ray!

Don't forget that pedal axles, handlebars, stems, saddles, chainsets etc etc can all snap too.

Oh and somebody could let your tyres down too - there's some nasty folk out there.

OP has a point. Most years the TdF results are skewed by the volume of domestiques having to abandon when their forks shatter or shear. I've got through 6 pairs this year as well, but it has been noticeably hotter and also wetter at times so hardly a surprise. It's a nuisance but one worth living with. Who wants kneecaps & skin on the hands anyway? Carry a spare along with a pump & tube.

Probably not recommended to use those forks (although i would be suprised that they passed a visual inspection never mind an x-ray). Not your original question though and possibly a bit harsh to divorce her over a pair of carbon forks

Mind you, if my wife reverses over my bikes, there could be similar consequences
