garmin upload help

hello brought a garmin 500 done a route and i want to upload it to my pc go to www.connect.garmin.com and plug it all in it recognises the edge 500 but this message goes up when i try to upload the route ''UnsupportedDataTypeException: Your device is not supported by this application.'' its really bugging me why it isnt working. how can i make it work or what am i doing wrong?

Have you installed the Garmin communicator plugin, that is what redvee is referring to I think

Yea I installed that do I have to load this everytime? I have managed to do it on google chrome but not on windows 9.

I think you mean internet explorer 9

If you use IE to access the garmin website then you'll need to install the communicator plugin for that as well. Just go to that link above and follow the instructions and it should install it.

After it's installed you should just need to connect the garmin to the pc and go to the site and it should work.

Actually a quick google suggested it might be IE 9 that is the problem.

(afaik the edge 500 and the 800 use the same plugin and file structure)

No there is a browser plug in I had to install for Chrome before I could download from my 705.
