This was bought as a frame only from CRC. It was a very good price!

The donor bike I'd previously bought from Lidl in March. It was new old stock which again was a very good price. I had no problems with the Stratos which weighted in at 9.25kg with the full Ultegra (6600) groupset and my own Planet-x Model B wheels.

It was purely by chance that I came across the Vitus frame which was produced by Cyfac and from what I've since found out is the same as their Proxyidium framed bike.
The bike was built up completely by myself.

I like it, it looks great and you've done a great job building it up. Whats it like to ride?
  • Thanks, I'm pretty chuffed with it.

I've only ridden it around the block just to set up the handlebars and shifters so can't really tell you much on the handling.

Do we always have to be blindly, sycophanitcally, positive on this part of the forum? If not:

    - the 3 main tubes look nice, they gleam in the sun,
    - but the rest of the bike looks black and heavy and cheap...and it's new, imagine it in 2000 kms time,
    - it's a Vitus but they didn't bother to keep any of the old Vitus TVT anodized colours like: light blue, dark blue, yellow, black, green, pink, red, etc, with the silver alu lugs. Those bikes looked crazy and they were so wippy it was silly, but they were light and rode very comfortably.
    When a cyclist has a disagreement with a car; it's not who's right, it's who's left.

  • Bit harsh!

I'm waiting to get some heli-tape so hopefully it should look as good as new in 2000kms.

Its just a rebadging of a cyfac frame to 'cash in' on the Vitus name I guess.

    Here's the Cyfac frame

To be honest its the DB's especially for £70!!

    +1

I think it is customary in this section not to be rude about people's bikes, particularly if you have not posted pictures of your own.

Not a bad looking bike at all and you've made a good job of putting it together.

I think it's cool. Nice job.

Have you considered a white seat post? I reckon that would make it even cooler.

It's nice to see someone else with one of CRC's frankly insanely priced Vitus frames!

It looks nice. Other than mine this is the only new but not current Vitus I have seen.
