Wales routes

Going to stay with relatives at some point next month and fancy trying out some riding in wales, I will be staying near to merthyr tydfil would like to ride around this area if possible and not travel to far, also if anyone has a gpx file of the routes that would be a bonus as I could just load onto my Garmin

there's gethin woodland which is just outside merthyr on the a470, there's some good downhill tracks there and supposedly some xc routes but you may have to have local knowledge/be willing to explore. the brecon beacons are only a 20/30 min drive if you wanted to travel, so's afan and cwmcarn

DH is not me thing so will give that a miss
don't mind exploring but think I would like route I could use really
20/30 miles is ok to travel like the Brecon Beacons idea any good routes around their?
something like a red around 20/25 miles would be good
