Panniers on a tortec ultralite rack?

Probably a daft question but can you easily fix panniers to a tortec ultralite rear rack?
Reason I ask is that it doesn't seem to have any way of fastening a lower clip or strap as the 2 x aluminium struts meet just above the bottom fixing (where it screws into the frane just above the rear wheel hub - there is no "spur" off which you could fix a lower strap. That said, there was nothing on the website (Evans) suggesting it wasn't suitable for normal panniers.
Are these just intended for use with rack bags?
cheers

Most pannier bags will fit this rack.
I currently use this exact rack with a pair of Altura pannier bags.
Excellent rack it is too.
Hope that helps.0 -
Thanks Dalton. What model Altura panniers are you using? cheersTitus Silk Road Ti rigid 29er - Scott Solace 10 disc - Kinesis Crosslight Pro6 disc - Scott CR1 SL - Pinnacle Arkose X 650b - Pinnacle Arkose singlespeed - Specialized Singlecross...& an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 4 string...0

Altura Arran Pannier bags, same as these...

Very good bags they are too, not completely waterproof - but good size and value for money.
Also, like I say - perfect fit for Tortec rack.0 -
Thanks again. Looks like they'll be on my list.Titus Silk Road Ti rigid 29er - Scott Solace 10 disc - Kinesis Crosslight Pro6 disc - Scott CR1 SL - Pinnacle Arkose X 650b - Pinnacle Arkose singlespeed - Specialized Singlecross...& an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 4 string...0

No worries,
I have been more than happy with mine. Use them for my commute to work. More than enough space for everything I need.
I recently converted to a rack and panniers from a rucksack - should have done it ages ago.

Most modern paniers fit with some kind of hook that goes round one of the support struts. I use ortlieb paniers on my tortec ultralite rack and the fit fine. I like the rack too - might want something more robust for touring but for commuting its ideal0

This.
Love the musicman btw - always wanted one when I played bass . . .0 -
Ha, yes, the Musicman. Have been tempted to use it to fund a bike purchase now i don;t really play anymore but can't bring myself to do it. Lusted after one during most of my teens so wold be wrong to let it go now! Looks damn good hung on the wall, and sometimes you just get the urge to pick it up and give it a slap (if you you know what I mean?)Titus Silk Road Ti rigid 29er - Scott Solace 10 disc - Kinesis Crosslight Pro6 disc - Scott CR1 SL - Pinnacle Arkose X 650b - Pinnacle Arkose singlespeed - Specialized Singlecross...& an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 4 string...0
