The crappest cycling movie ever made!0

Once you've got it up keep it up! or something like that. Cheesy but i love that film.
I need that jersey in my life.Pinno, מלך אידיוט וחרא מכונאי0 -
Whaddayamean? Was a great movie, at least it was a cycling movie. And the Specialized bikes were great, almost drool-worthy, but not quite.
I love the B&W picture of the movie - the guy in the middle (the younger brother) has bigger boobs than the girl, what's up with that? When a cyclist has a disagreement with a car; it's not who's right, it's who's left.0 -
Awesome film, It was 1985, Its not a documentary it's a hollywood take on cycling and its great.
And now I own the jersey!
When I ride my bike its with American Flyers in my mind, The opposite of cycling weeklys grim photo's of the uk scene and thats why I love it.... Enough of this Sunday stroll, its time to hurt a little!0 -
Thanks warrior for posting this. Love the film 80's cheese at it's best, I may have to order. Which jersey did you go for? It’s the most beautiful sport in the world but it’s governed by ***ts who have turned it into a crock of ****.0

The team one, I think I'll end up with both though.0

Awesome film, just watched it 2 nights ago (you can get it through iTunes). What's it work out at, shipped to UK?Coupla Road Bikes0

£62 I think.
Well worth it for such an iconic jersey, Pretty sure it'll be great quality as well.
I'll put up pictures when it arrives.0 -
Nevermind that, I'm ordering my own!! LolCoupla Road Bikes0

I was 14 when i first saw this film and me and my best mate immediatley chopped in our BMX bikes for Raliegh Equipe road bikes and i have never looked back since. In fact it was this film that made me buy an Allez a few years ago (in red of course). I am so sad that every time a see a roadie when im in the car i drive past and say "up Dave". Love it and will defo get the jersey! OMG did i really just admit all that!0

On club runs when its going steady I always want to say "enough of this Sunday stroll, Its time to hurt a little" but nobody would know what I was talking about.
Everyone in my club is newish to cycling, and non of them have seen the film even though most are in their 40's.
When I was 16 in 1992 I watched this film at least once a week, It made me sick when the Allez went over the cliff edge.
I remember training 30-40 miles a day cos that's what David did.0 -
It was a crap film, really, I am saddened to hear it endorsed on here :roll:0

Dodgy - its an age/era thing. We all have one film that takes us back to our youth and this (along with Dirty Dancing!) is mine. The thing with Dirty Dancing is i can at least claim to have watched that film to keep the girlfirend happy. American Flyers on the other hand was just a selfish pleasure:). Oh and by the way after reading this i have just downloaded the theme tune "Brand New Day". OMG im off to bed before i say something really sad.0 -
I was about 10years old when i first saw it and it had eveything a great 80's film needed. Good guys, bad guys, training sequences, romance, comedy and someone with a berry aneurysm, brilliant!
Love the treadmill record scene.Pinno, מלך אידיוט וחרא מכונאי0 -
I'm buying the movie on that You Tube link alone!
Looks full on cheese in a great Top Gun way (and Top Gun is a full on cheese fest).

I had to google schmuk to see what it meant as it sounded like the sort of word someone would have said in one of those cheesy 80s american movies, you now the type you dont like. Anyway i guess if you think so thats all that really matters.0 -
I downloaded it as well.0

I am going to order one too. I am a big fella (44 Chest and 14.5 Stone) so I need the XXL but dont like jerseys so tight they show my love handles.
Bob Shaver emailed to say they are between a race and club cut but that means nothing to me. Any ideas?0 -
American Fliers - Sprint training with Fido. Classic!

I also race sailboats and we had "Wind" with Matthew Modine & Jennifer Grey in Hollywood's take on the America's Cup. The saddest part was the secret weapon spinnaker was called the "Whoomper". I mean, come on!When a cyclist has a disagreement with a car; it's not who's right, it's who's left.0 -
