That's from 2006
The copper is Inspector Mark Britton. He's head of the Islands Road policing unit and he's a great guy. Used to do this same thing every year when they just had the 1 beer tent and all the action was down the bottom end of the prom.
It was his opinion that if you let the bikers blow off some steam there, showing off in front of the crowds at the beer tent, they were less likely to ride like c0cks over the mountain. I have to say I agree with him and it's a damned shame he is no longer able to do this as after the racing, this was always my favourite part of the TT.0
