Hi,
removed the square taper BB from my wifes Trek 4300 and some of the ID numbers on the BB have been partially corroded.
Need to ID to order the correct replacement. The cranks/chainset are suntour and these are fine so just looking to change the BB itself.
Here is a picture:
I can make out the following text:
BB-74 (rest is missing but could be a manufacturers model number)
BC1.37 x 247
L<73>R
Measuring the spindle length (with a ruler  ) it appears to be 121-122mm.
Looking on chain reaction looks like I need a 73 x 122 ? Is this a safe assumption given the above ? will a shimano suqare taper be ok even though it isn't a Shimano currently fitted?

Wow, that was quick nicklouse, thank you.
When refitting the crank arms, would you tap home with a rubber mallet and then do up the crank bolts or let the crank bolts push the arms home onto the spindles ?0 -
Get them seated first then tighten. Less chance of thread damage.I don't do smileys.
