Wow fantastic, well done him. The bikeradar spring fling seems to have had an effect

Second place by a measly 0.4 seconds! Damn.

Road race was today and I managed to pop a spoke early on. Rode the first half of the race with a wonky wheel before pulling over for a wheel change. But by the time I got a new wheel, the bunch was too far up the road and try as I might, could not chase back on. Rode the rest of the race solo and finished in 13th place - out of the points.

However, due to a good result in the TT and a little luck (my main competition failed to finish the road race), I was able to hold onto the World Cup leader's jersey. There is one more round to go in Canada next month - and I wasn't scheduled to ride it, but we (my team) are currently looking at ways to raise the cash to send me there to compete and try and secure the jersey.

Disappointing to have a mechanical in the race today as I was riding really strongly and would mostly likely have been on the podium (had I finished!).

Thanks for the continued interest and support!

  • Excellent stuff, Colin. It looks like you're well on track for Brands Hatch. Us Londoners will have to organise a BR outing to cheer you on - any excuse for getting out of town

A question born of ignorance: how long is the course and how many laps will the race and TT be? It's probably my bad googling - I found the course ( http://www.london2012.com/documents/ven ... te-map.pdf ) but I couldn't see where the distances were published.

For my category - the TT is a maximum of 25km and the road race is 75km.

For other categories (such as tandems) the TT is 35km and the road race can be as much as 120km.
