I have only been riding actively for 6-8 weeks and a friend has convinced me to take part in this cycle challenge in the lake district.
I have opted to try the 43 mile route and was wondering if anyone has taken part before and if so , what is it like.

You will probably find it very hard.
Honister pass is very tough and Newlands and whinlatter are both a challenge. It's a great event tho I did it last year0 -
I'll be doing it, it'll be the 1st road event I'll have done as well.
Honister is hard but Winlatter is OK from Lorton. I rode the medium route a few days ago, nearly run out of water on a hotish day, but there will be a drink/food stop on the medium route.
looking forward to it 8)0 -

I managed to finish the Challenge without killing myself.
Some of the mountain passes were tough and the descents fast , but overall a very enjoyable day.
The event was very well organised and I will definitely be entering next year.
I will definitely be putting in a lot more training and my goal is to get around next year without walking up any of the hills.0
