shimano sora - cable adjusting bolt - rear derailller

what direction should the groove on the cable adjusting bolt on RD be pointing ?

does it make any difference?

    I'm not sure I understand the question. Do you mean the shaped washer under the clamp screw?

    In line with the cable and towards the outside of the screw. Put it on the other side and you'll not get the gears to index properly.
    Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

    i managed gto find the shimano doc which explained it....yes in line with the cable...towards the rear of th der.....
