Just clean the area with water and diluted degreaser. Be gentle, rinse well, let dry.0

Just spray the disk/brake cleaner on the pads at the same time you do the rotors, quick easy and works, no need to even take the pads out

OK.
I didn't say it was "the simple solution" just a possible solution.
If you prefer to do that then do that. I like to see if they are savable first personally.
Too much stuff is thrown away instead of being fixed - the earth's resources are not infinite .... plus chances are you want to use the bike NOW so canot wait 3 days for the pads to arrive in the post, or else it is a trip to the local bike shop to buy some pads but hey, how do you get there on a bke that cannot stop?
I would always try to repair than replace.0 -
Agree on fixing but setting fire to brake pads doesn't sound like the best solution to me.I don't do smileys.

ive never used anything so hi-tec as you guys I just wash and scrub with soapy water then hold above the gas stove with pliers to dry out, then lightly sand on a flat surface. seems to work ok. Otherwise use a dripper style chain lube which keeps well clear of ya discs0
