Is there a better wheelset for the money than these http://www.slanecycles.com/mavic-rsys-premium-wheelset-shimano-m10-2010-p-5115.html, needs to be light, stiff and low profile. If there is let me know.

  • Just bought these last week http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=61004 Have gone up £55 since they but still less that the Mavic R-Sys, Weight 1395g for set... haven't got to try them yet with weather and work.

Can't say which is better as I don't know enough to compare... these just matched my criteria best within my budget.

Whilst R-Sys are light and stiff, the one thing they ain't is aero, they are about the worst wheels for freewheeling.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

R Sys has to be the best climbing wheel out there. The carbon spokes are so strong, every watt of power is transferred to the rim.

But unless you live somewhere very hilly, I would go for something with bladed spokes. The carbon spokes are a large diameter and will give quite a bit of drag on fast flat roads.

I ride R-Sys and the drag on fast flat is minimal.

By far the best wheels I have owned.

i love my r- sys wheels.
feel responsive and very stable. when i first put them on, i noticed how quickly they got up to speed.

as for a problem with freewheeling - well my body creates more drag!
