Im referring to the 1980 version that Hinault used. Selle have reintroduced it and everywhere I read about it just raves over its level of comfort, here at BR it gets a very positive write up as well. Anybody who has used one, are they as comfy as all that and would you recommed one ?

Was talking to a chum the other day who knows bikes very well (builds his own etc). I asked him to recommend me a saddle and he said it was impossible as everyone's arse and sit bones are different.

Try one out if you can... Hopefully though someone who has one will chime in.

    Best of luck,

i would recommend it, and use one on my training bike, but with the caution shown above - your ass might well not like it.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.

supposed to be a very firm saddle though and i thought harder would make it more uncomfy :?

Shape is more important than padding. When a saddle suits your backside, the amount of padding is almost immaterial - in fact less is often more

The original Turbo or the San Marco Rolls have justifiably great reputations as they are very comfortable. I have an original Turbo from 1984 on my Gios which is still going strong. I don't think there are too many modern saddles that have the same combination of shape and comfort.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
