So I may as well start from the start. I was going for a nice cycle on Saturday, when BAM out comes a car and knocks me off. Thankfully I was fine, and the guy was actually pretty decent about it. However, my wheels had both been bent very badly, and the gear system didn't look too good either. I have a boardman bike, so I phoned halfords to see what the cost would be for new wheels, they told me it would be £150. Anyway, not expecting anything, I phoned my insurance company, and they said they would replace my £500 bike with anything up to £700!

Back to the real reason I started this... Help with choosing a new bike! I had the Boardman hybrid 'comp', which was perfect for my uses. I'm wondering whether to upgrade to the 2011 'team' model, which costs £700 or to look for another similar in this price range.

What do you think?

Boardman are very well specced for the price - if the frame config suits you then stick to it (but upgrade to the team if the insurance will pay) 8)
