Pivot point?

Should the "perfect" fit on your bike resemble a pivot point where, when you are peddling you feel equal pressure on your hands and bum? (like a feeling of tilting between the handlebar and the saddle) I noticed this today after raising my saddle a small bit. It felt really nice and comfortable the entire 30km ride.

Nope. Perfect fit is the one where you are the most comfortable.
FWIW I must have more pressure on my bum, as my legs dangle down underneath them, and increase the reaction at the saddle from the bars. Whereas the pressure on the bars is limited to the reaction of my torso and arms, pivoting around the saddle.0 -
Looking at the pros and their position, I cant for a second believe that their weight is perfectly balanced... Mainly due to the array of positions they use with the same seat height...
I think its a trade off between using your arms as shock absorbers rather than load bearers, and allowing your downward pressure through your legs to not lift your bum out of the seat.. At least thats what Im going for with my position!!
But my approach is in no way scientific!! =P0 -
Roughly 2/3 on saddle and pedals and 1/3 on bars.0

One of the best articles I've read on bike fitting. Debunks some of the myths and I'm sure plenty will disagree but it has helped me getting my position right.
