how do you remove slx cranks!

hi , am trying to put a chainguide on my, bike but cant seem to remove the crank arm ? what do i need to do?

    1 have a read of Parktools.

    an allen key and a Preload bolt tool. and then a HT2 BB tool. and maybe a rubber mallet.

    ah so i need to remove the bottom bracket too ? :(

    I addition to nick's pearls of wisdom, remember that a well shod foot can replace a rubber mallet.

    Mystic Northwind Predicts: You have undone the 2 M6 bolts, but not the little plastic retainer doobrie thing that sits on the same crank arm. Once you pop that out of the way, the left hand arm just comes off.
