Clark brake pads for Avid BB5

I've bought Clark's pads to fit my Avid BB5 disc brakes but the pads don't seem to fit. Having examined the original pads the Clarks pads seem to be missing an indent on the back of the pad that doesn't allow the pad to fit snugly next to the piston. Or am I missing something?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. The supplier is reluctant to take them back as I've tried to install them.

Take them back with the original pads, if they are different they can't really argue.
